Born in Milan in 1976, thought I’d become an aviator but graduated at the Graphic Art and Advertising School of Milan instead. I fell in love with theatre and became an actor. I moved to Spain and then travelled the world with a number of theatre companies.
My subsequent urge, though, was to observe rather than make theatre, so I became a stage photographer, specialising in dance and theatre photos and in portraits of actors, dancers and film directors. Since 2001 I am the official photographer of Milan’s Festival of African, Asian and Latin America Cinema.
All the while I have never ceased turning my eye on different places and people, shooting reportages and portrait stories in honour of the aviator I’ve never become.
